If you have been keeping your plans in Microsoft Project, it is very easy to import those files into SmartTask for seamless integration. Simply click on the dropdown menu besides ‘Add Task’ button and click on ‘Import from MS Project’ option and you are done!

It is possible to import such MS Project file in a number of formats such as .MPP, .MPX, and .XML. Your tasks with their dates, dependencies and subtasks will be imported to SmartTask for ready integration and use.

Make sure that you have selected the correct project where you want to import the MS Project tasks.

One precaution would be to remove the main summary task before importing the project. This is because, SmartTask considers the `Summary task` as parent and all the tasks under it would become subtasks of the `Summary task`.

Example MPP File is available for download below.
